Are you looking forward to soaking up the sun sipping on your favourite tipple? While you’re waiting for London to be doused in sunshine you can familiarise yourself with your local pubs, bars and restaurants that all have one thing in common…a beer garden! Following recommendations and suggestions from our team, we have rounded up some of our favourite places to enjoy a beer or two in north London this summer.
The Albion Do you remember when Islington was just fields? The Albion does, a gift from Georgian times the popular pub is renowned for its delicious menu and delightful beer garden. If you live or work in Islington you should make this a regular place to frequent particularly in the summer when the French windows are opened to expose the beautiful wisteria-filled English country garden. 10 Thornhill Rd, Islington, London N1 1HW
The White Heart Situated in Stoke Newington the White Heart is a favourite for families due to its inviting beer garden and community events. Enjoy, DJs, live bands and live sports with your pals or your pup has dogs are welcome until 8 pm. When the sun is out and the beer is on tap there’s no better place to enjoy an afternoon or evening in this secret sun-drenched garden. 69 Stoke Newington High St, Stoke Newington, London N16 8E
The Earl of Essex Although this pub has only been around for a few years it’s actually Islington’s first brewpub and home to Earl’s Brewery. On the menu, you can drink your way around the globe with an extensive selection of international beers all to be enjoyed in their popular beer garden. Located on Danbury Street it’s the perfect pub for serious beer drinkers with a menu where your choice of meal is matched with one of their twenty craft beers! 25 Danbury Street, Islington London N1 8LE
Brouhaha Bar Found in the heart of Harringay this is a popular choice with several of our team members, a place described as a ‘hub of the community’ with a unique roof terrace paired with a friendly atmosphere. Enjoy a range of drinks, tasty treats and fun board games with your friends late into the evening. After a few cocktails and some time spent on their roof terrace, you might forget that you’re on Greens Lanes and not a bar in the Med! 501 Green Lanes, Harringay, London, N4 1AL
Rakkas For an alternative take on a ‘beer garden’ head to Rakkas, an affordable and authentic Mediterranean style restaurant boasting a beer garden with a twist. Take your pick from their selection of shishas to be enjoyed in their recently renovated garden that boasts a 130 seated area. Also found in their Shisha garden you might catch a backgammon tournament and other social games. 369 Green Lanes, Harringay, London, N4 1DY
The Faltering Fullback Tucked away behind Finsbury Park you may not even know that this charming Irish pub exists. Along with big screens for your favourite sports is an impressive beer garden and stage for local artists to perform for your pleasure. If an Irish pub in the heart of Finsbury shining the spotlight on singers, sporting events and a weekly quiz isn’t surprising enough the Faltering Fullback also serves authentic Thai food! 19 Perth Road, Finsbury Park, London, N43HB
