About Crouch End

Crouch End is London’s Platform 9 ¾, which is why the locals love it so much.  Located in North London in the borough of Harringay, it’s often described as a little urban village amidst the London bustle, and if you visit, you’ll see this is true.

Although London continues to evolve and develop, Crouch End has managed to retain its boho charm, attracting professional couples and families.  One of the reasons for this is possibly that it’s not serviced by tube or train, but don’t let this put you off.

Crouch End is the kind of place you get to, and don’t want to leave.  Everything you could possibly want is here, from cool independent shops, local pubs and bars, a theatre, parkland… and it’s got more than its fair share of celebrities, too.  Slightly cheaper than its neighbours, Highgate and Muswell Hill, you’ll find a mixture of Victorian and Edwardian houses as well as a good selection of schools and green spaces.  The famous Alexandra Park sits on the northern border, and nearby Priory Park is proud of its Green Flag award.

“There’s a little place called Dunn’s Bakery, which does the most amazing hot cross buns I’ve ever tasted.”

Do you have a favourite place to go?

“The Art House Cinema was voted London’s best cinema by Time Out readers in 2014, which is why I had to try it out.  The petite, two-screen independent venue is a favourite with locals from Crouch End and the surrounding area. It’s my preferred cinema in London; as well as films, there’s comedy and music, plus it’s got this cool bar and café, and the food is pretty good too

The Local Community

If you love a community feel (not that easy to find in London) Crouch End is perfect.  It attracts many different types of property buyers and tenants, from professionals and families to first-time buyers and students. You’ll find people here who haven’t lived anywhere else so it’s rich in history, and if you get to know the locals, you’ll soon find out all about it!  

Working regularly with the community is The Crouch End Project, which stand up for local businesses and is focusing on bringing customers back to the high street.  Attend one of their events, markets or festivals and you’ll soon want to make Crouch End your home.

How to get to Crouch End – Zone 3

By tube: Crouch End doesn’t have its own underground station but is served well by Highgate (Northern Line) and Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly Line).

By rail: Crouch End does, however, have an overground station.

By bus: 41, 91, N41, N91, W3, W5, W7.
